The Charles School is an Early College High School where students are expected to complete college coursework for both High School and College credit to earn their diploma from our five year program. The Charles School is a proud member of the Middle College National Consortium.

Educational Philosophy: Experiential Program in an Early College High School

The curriculum of The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University is unique; tested, accessible, and affordable. As part of the fully accredited curriculum, both The Charles School and Ohio Dominican University provide guidance and support to students through high school and the first two years of college work. Guided by teachers and professors who are certified in their academic disciplines, students have the advantage of real-world experiences and rigorous academics; they are supported and supervised by faculty of The Charles School and Ohio Dominican University as they progress through high school and college work.

The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University is part of nationwide network of Early College High Schools that offer the best of traditional secondary education in concert with a college partner to provide higher education that is affordable and accessible to a broad diversity of students and families

The Ohio Dominican University

The Ohio Dominican University is the university partner of The Charles School. A fully accredited, four-year liberal arts institution, Ohio Dominican was founded in 1911. The university occupies 64 beautifully wooded acres, centrally located in Columbus, Ohio. Today, Ohio Dominican has over 3,000 students -- nearly 90% of whom receive financial aid. Ohio Dominican is committed to academic excellence, lifelong learning and community service.

Students are the top priority at Ohio Dominican, as they are at The Charles School. The university’s acclaimed liberal arts curriculum is at the core of all academic studies. Classes are small and students may choose from more than 50 undergraduate majors. The student body is diverse and individualism is celebrated, regardless of age, race, gender, religious background, ethnic or cultural heritage.
