My name is Kim Pettit, and I am the Humanities Teacher for 5th grade. This is my first year with GEMS but my 5th year teaching. I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree & licensure in Elementary Education (K-5) and Special Education (K-12 Mild/Moderate & Moderate/Intensive). I previously worked as an Intervention Specialist at KIPP: Columbus and Stambaugh Charter Academy. I also taught for two years as an Intervention Specialist at the Rich Center for Autism in Youngstown working with students with significant needs. During the summers, you may find me hanging out at the Columbus Zoo- I worked there for 8 summers! Check out the Rhinos- they’re my favorite!
