Dear TCS Student and Family (Grades 11-13):
We hope that you are enjoying your summer vacation and share in our excitement as we welcome you to a wonderful new year at The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University (TCS). We are looking forward to seeing your student at the REQUIRED:
Orientation session for 11th–13th grade students at The Charles School on
Thursday, August 16 from 8:00am–2:45pm.
School buses will be running at this time to transport students who have filled out bus forms, to and from school. Please find alternative transportation for your student if busing is not confirmed. If you are unable to attend your required orientation date, please call the school as soon as possible to schedule an alternative date and time.
The orientation session will include an introduction of administration, counselors, and other key personnel, as well as an opportunity to learn about school culture and procedures. Students will receive their schedule and planner, learn more about our advisory groups, and complete MAP assessments (diagnostic testing). Student drivers will need to complete the 2018-2019 Parking Pass Application, present their driver’s license and pay $30 for their parking permit during orientation. Students may not park at school without a permit.
We are looking forward seeing students and parents/guardians at the
Family Open House on Thursday, August 16th from 5:30-7:30pm at TCS.
Open House is an important time for us to get together, meet other families and staff members, learn about new policies and procedures, get in touch with available resources, turn in enrollment paperwork, pay school fees, and eat some ice-cream.
Finally, please be aware that we continue to work on the school’s Master Schedule throughout the summer, and while class selections should not change after orientation, the class period and teacher could change as we balance class sizes. Additional information regarding schedules will be made available through Powerschool. If you are in need of login information, please contact the front desk.
Orientation and Open House are central to starting the school year off well, both academically and behaviorally. We ask that you make every effort to participate in both events. You will be assisting us in our endeavor to provide the best possible educational experience for all of the students at TCS. We are looking forward to working with each of you and can’t wait to get the new year started!
