• The Charles School - The Charles School Events
Description:
On Wednesday, October 30th all students will be taking a College Board test. Please note the change in date, and that this is a full day of school, not an early release day as previously indicated on the calendar. The 9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9, all 10th and 11th graders will take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and 12th graders who take high school classes and Early College 12th and 13th graders who RSVPed to their advisor will take the SAT.  The tests begin promptly at 8:00AM, and will last until approximately 12:30PM.

The PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT are important steps on the road to college. The tests measure critical reading, verbal reasoning, math problem solving, and writing skills. They assesses knowledge and skills developed through years of study in a wide range of courses as well as through experiences outside the classroom. Although the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT are not directly related to a specific high school curriculum, they are developed to reflect the kinds of academic experiences that teachers consider important for students to be college and career ready.

Students can prepare for the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT on the College Board Website.  Students can learn about the types of questions that will be on the test by visiting www.CollegeBoard.org. College Board has teamed up with Khan Academy to provide free, personalized practice.
