Ohio State Tests - March 26-29 and April 9-13

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

The Ohio State Tests are starting at the end of this month.  These tests are either a yearlong class end of course tests or a make-up test.

Testing will take place March 26-29 and April 9-13, 2018. We will be mailing individualized letters home soon so that you know which dates your

student is testing.

All classes will continue in a typical fashion during testing from March 26-29.  Only students who are testing will be affected by the testing

schedule.  Students who miss class due to testing will be given the opportunity to make up any missed classwork and assignments. If a student is

absent from testing, they will make up the test upon their return.

All students will have a half day of school from April 9-13 from 8:30am-1:30pm.  Students who have an assigned bus route will be provided bus

transportation. If your student does not have an assigned route, please arrange transportation for the dates and times above. Students who

participate in the school lunch program will have a sack lunch available to them in lieu of a hot lunch.

There are seven of Ohio’s State Tests that will be given. Each one is graded on a scale of 1 to 5. Students must earn at least 3 points on each test to be considered proficient.  Students need at least 18 points in order to graduate: 4 in English/Language Arts, 4 in Math, 6 between science and social studies, and an additional 4 from any combination of the seven tests. Below are all of the dates of the Spring Tests.

How Can My Student Study? – The best way is for students to go online to bit.ly/AIR-resources and do the sample test, then spend time

reviewing materials on this site. Your student has also been preparing all year in the intensive courses 1st period and in their regularly scheduled

courses.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
